What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.

Last updated 7 September 2026 · Pups Takeout Kitchen LLC, Canton, Michigan

We're a small fresh dog food kitchen in Canton. We collect what we need to cook your dog's food and get it to your door, and not much else. This page says exactly what that is in plain language, because a privacy policy you can't understand isn't worth much.

What we collect

Your contact and delivery details. Your name, email address, phone number, and — if we're delivering — your street address and ZIP code. We also store the map coordinates for that address so we can work out delivery distance and route.

Your phone number does a second job: it's how we recognise you when you order again, so your saved pups come back without you re-entering them. That's also why two people in the same household can share an address but keep separate accounts.

Your dogs. Name, breed, gender, temperament, weight, activity level, body type, birthday or gotcha day, any allergies you tell us about, and a photo if you upload one. All of it optional except the name — the rest just helps us cook better and put the right name on the right bag.

Your orders. The ingredients and amounts you chose, cooking preferences, portion sizes, any notes you leave for us or for the driver, and the order total. We keep this because Michigan feed law requires us to label what went in each package, and because you'll probably want to reorder.

A record that you agreed to our terms. When you check out, we store the date, the version of the terms you agreed to, and the IP address the agreement came from. That's a legal record of consent, not a tracking tool.

Sign-in links. When you ask us to email you a sign-in link, we store a one-time code, when it expires, and the IP address and browser it was requested from — so that a link emailed to you can't be quietly used by someone else. These records are deleted when the link is used or expires.

Anonymous site statistics. We count how many people land on the site, how many start building a bowl, and how many reach checkout, plus which link or QR code brought them. This is deliberately anonymous: a random ID stored in your browser tab that your browser destroys the moment you close it. No email, no phone, no name, no IP address, no browser fingerprint. Nothing in it can be traced back to you, and we couldn't look you up in it if we tried.

What we don't collect

Your card number. We never see it. Payment goes directly to Stripe, our payment processor, on their systems. We store only what Stripe tells us afterwards: that the payment succeeded, and a reference number. There is no card data in our database to lose.

We also don't buy personal data about you from anyone, and we don't sell or rent yours. Ever. That's not a policy we intend to revisit.

Advertising and cookies

We run ads on Google, and our site includes Google's advertising tag. If you arrive from one of our ads, that tag lets Google tell us whether the click turned into an order — otherwise we'd be paying for clicks with no idea if they led anywhere.

That tag sets cookies in your browser and shares information about your visit with Google, including which pages you viewed and whether you completed an order. It's a third party, and their handling of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's ad settings, or block cookies in your browser — the site works fine either way.

We deliberately don't load that tag on our own internal kitchen and admin pages, so our staff's daily use of the system never ends up in advertising data.

Who else sees your information

Only the companies we need to run the business, and only the part each one needs:

We don't share your details with anyone else — no marketing lists, no data brokers, no partners. If we ever deliver through a courier, they'd get your name, address and phone number and nothing more.

How long we keep it

Order records and their feed labels we keep as a business and regulatory record. Your account, pups and saved preferences we keep while your account is active, so reordering stays easy.

If you start an order and never pay, we clean it up automatically: a first-time customer's details are deleted outright, and for a returning customer we roll back just the pups and edits from that unfinished session, leaving your existing account alone.

Your choices

Email us and we'll do any of the following, at no cost:

No hoops, and we won't ask you to explain yourself.

Children

This site is for adults buying dog food. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.

Security, honestly stated

Your data sits in a private database on Microsoft Azure, reachable only by our own application, and admin access to our internal tools requires a sign-in link sent to an approved email address. Payment card data never touches our systems at all.

We're a small team, not a security company, and no one can honestly promise a system can't be breached. What we can promise is that we hold as little as possible, so there's less to lose, and that if something did happen we'd tell you rather than hope you didn't notice.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information in any way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant — a new company getting access to your data, say — we'll email you rather than quietly editing this page.
